Below are the fees and contact information to obtain a building permit. This office would be happy to help, if you would like.

 

Carbon County Area (outside of the Cities):

Fees are based on a Building Valuation Schedule on a per square foot basis. Each type of building has a different value. The fees are:

$500-$2,000 $22 + $2.75/$100.  

$2,001-$25,000 $63 + $12.50/$1,000.  

$25,001-$50,000 $352 + $9/$1,000.  

$50,001-$100,000 $580 + $6.25/$1,000.  

$100,001-$500,000 $895 + $5.00/$1,000. 

$500,001-$1,000,000 $2,855 +  $4.25/$1,000  

$1,000,001 and above $4,955 + $2.75/$1,000

 

East Carbon:

Helper:

Contact Tony Gonzales at 472-5265 for an application. After the application is approved, it is taken to Carbon County, 632 South 400 West, to purchase the actual permit. Cost is based on the cost of job for existing structures or the cost per square foot for buildings starting from the ground up.

 

Price:

Contact Bob Bennett, Frances Duzanck, or Molly Penovich at 637-5010 or 632 South 400 West. Cost is based on the cost of job for existing structures or the cost per square foot for buildings starting from the ground up.

 

Sunnyside:

All building permits are contracted through Carbon County.  Get a site plan from City Hall, 701 Market Street and have it reviewed by Planning and Zoning. After approval, contact Carbon County above. The costs are the same.

 

Wellington:

Contact the City Office at 637-5213 or 150 West Main, to pick-up an application for approval. After the application is approved, it is taken to Carbon County, 65 South 100 East, Price, to purchase the actual permit. Cost is based on the cost of job for existing structures or the cost per square foot for buildings starting from the ground up.
