Animal Expo
August 12-13, 2005

Entry Form

Any County resident interested in exhibiting animals is encouraged to do so by filling out the following form

and mailing it to USU Extension 120 E. Main, Price, UT 84501. We would like to extend a special invitation to every person of Carbon County; young and old alike; to bring their farm animals to the Animal Expo (indoor arena). Ribbons and premium money will be awarded upon judge’s decision. A limit of three entries per

species will be awarded premiums to exhibitor.

 

Small animal classes include: rabbits, poultry, pigeons.  Small animals can be brought in on August 12 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Bring your own feed and water; sawdust and pens provided. Return entry

form by August 1, 2005.

 

To receive large animal premiums and sell market animals


Large animal classes include: goats, swine, sheep, beef, mini horses.

All Market animals will be checked in between 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.
Blue ribbon market animals will be sold on a pre-purchase order. A three animal minimum will be used to determine grand and reserve animals. Entry form must be returned to USU Extension office by July 29.

Only blue ribbon quality (market animals) beef, hogs and lambs will be sold. Large animals not show

ready will receive exhibit only animal premiums.  Please note:  Due to communicable swine diseases, State

Law states that all swine shown at a show must go to the butcher.  They cannot return to the breeding herd.

Large Animal Show Rules
1. Animals should be fit and show ready
2. Minimum market weights: Hog 220, Lamb 100, steer 1,000
3. Youth ages 3rd to 12th grade (January 1)
4. Show Dress: White shirt and good Levi’s
5. Two market animals per exhibitor will be sold if

      different species
