PERMIT APPLICATION
If you are located in Price
City or East Carbon City the zoning approval, building
permit application, approval, and inspections will be conducted by the
local City. Please see USEFUL NUMBERS.
If you are located in Wellington
City, Helper City,
Scofield Town, or Sunnyside City the zoning approval will be completed
first at the local city office. See USEFUL NUMBERS.
After receiving zoning approval, the building permit application and
approval will be processed in the Carbon County
Building office. We will
also inspect the project as work progresses.
If you are located in the un-incorporated area of
Carbon
County and not in one of the towns or
cities listed above, the zoning approval, building permit application,
and approval will be processed in the Carbon County
Building office. See

work progresses.
When applying for a building permit be prepared to provide the following
materials:
· Completed permit application, include contractors name and license
numbers.
· Site plan drawn to scale that shows the location of all buildings,
existing & proposed, with distances between buildings and to property
lines.
· 2 sets of plans drawn to scale (not less that ¼” = 1’) showing:
a. footing/foundation
b. column or wall framing
c. beam sizes, if used
d. roof framing/rafter size or trusses
e. electrical plan, if any
f. plumbing plan, if any
· If you live in Scofield Town, Helper City,
Wellington City, or Sunnyside City you must provide proof of city zoning
approval.
For new construction include proof of fees paid: See
USEFUL NUMBERS
· Water connection from Price River Water Improvement District PRWID or
Scofield SSD.
· Sewer hook-ups from PRWID or Scofield SSD.
· Septic approval from Southeast Utah Health District.
All commercial building applications require 2 sets of wet stamped plans
by a Utah Licensed Engineer or Architect. All commercial and residential
construction must comply with IRC 2006, IBC 2006, NEC 2005, IPC, and IMC
depending on type of construction.
We cannot and will not design projects. Please submit complete plans. A
list of local contractors is available.
