MIKE BALLARD MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER GOLF TOURNAMENT, BANQUET, AND CONCERT
The employees of Carbon County are pleased to announce details surrounding the 2018 edition of the Mike Ballard Fundraiser. The annual event is dedicated to raising funds for a local individual or cause/organization that benefits local residents.
This year’s recipient is Carbon County employee Frank Ori. Frank suffered a major stroke the first week of December 2017 and continues to fight like a champion and retrain himself through what will be a long and arduous recovery. Frank’s wife Kristine has been by his side every step of the way through this unanticipated journey. As we can all imagine, the strain on their family has been enormous, but Carbon County is rallying to support Frank in his time of need.
Frank was instrumental in beginning this fundraiser, which over the years has resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars being donated to worthy individuals and causes in our area. Frank is also a well known local radio personality. If anyone deserves the title of Mr. Carbon County – Frank Ori is the man. If you live in and love Carbon County, whether you know it or not, your life has been touched for the better because of Frank’s dedication to our community.
The main events will be the Golf Tournament at the Carbon Country Club, with a shotgun start at noon on June 9, 2018. Each 4-person team sponsorship will be $160, plus carts and green fees per golfer. Great team and individual prizes will be awarded at the banquet. The entry fee includes a dinner and concert ticket at the Carbon County Events Center, following the tournament. It also gives you an entry for a prize drawing.
To sign up for the tournament, which will be limited to 32 teams (so get in early), contact Kellie Payne at 751 E 100 N (Carbon County Courthouse), or call her at 636-3708. You can also call Connie Julian at 636-3667. (MasterCard, Visa, and Discover card payments will be available.)
The dinner banquet will also feature professional auctioneer John Bair, who will emcee the event during the meal. If you’re not participating in the golf tournament, tickets can be purchased for $30 for adults for dinner/concert, $20 for concert only, and for children the cost is $15 for dinner/concert, or $5 for the concert only.
Following the dinner and live auction, a concert with Natural Causes, featuring well known KUTV 2 News anchor Mark Koelbel will perform. If you love classic rock and roll from the fifties to the present, you’ll love this amazing band! They are family friendly, so if you’re anywhere from 1 to 90, you’re going to have a great time listening, dancing, and singing along!
Other ways you can help are with hole or green sponsorships for $150, cash donations, or prize drawing gifts.
