CVAS Revitalization Meeting

There was once, in Carbon County, a regional chapter of the Utah Statewide Archaeological Society (https://utaharchaeology.org/) called the Castle Valley Archaeological Society or CVAS.
We were a group of archaeology enthusiasts who met every 3rd Thursday at the museum and hosted some really cool guest speakers, had potlucks and barbecues, and otherwise enjoyed each other’s company.
A variety of factors contributed to the slow demise (or perhaps just hibernation) of CVAS over the last few years but some of us are interested in reviving it again, with or without the statewide organization.
For anyone interested in being involved, please attend a meeting at the museum April 24th at 5:30 pm. If you can’t attend in person we will try to host it on zoom as well.
This is not a formal CVAS meeting. Rather, we’d like to gauge community interest in the organization and work through how best to move forward. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns or if you ‘d like your voice to be heard but can’t make it to the meeting.
