Carbon County is a Film Ready Utah Community, certified through the Utah Film Commission. This designation helps connect filmmakers with local resources, locations, and support services, making Carbon County an ideal destination for feature films, television productions, commercials, and digital media projects.

With its diverse landscapes, historic communities, and authentic Western character, Carbon County offers a wide variety of unique filming locations. Helper has been a popular filming destination for many years, serving as the backdrop for films such as Rigoletto, Adventures of Power, and The Wayshower. More recently, the area welcomed Ghost Adventures, the production of Dusty Bluffs, starring MP Cunningham, Jer Jackson, and Pyper America, as well as Salt & Honey, directed by Amy Redford.

Our team understands that every production has unique needs and is committed to helping filmmakers navigate the permitting process and connect with local partners. As a Film Ready Community, we welcome productions of all sizes and are here to assist from pre-production through wrap.

Filming Requests

Please complete a Filming Request Application and include a detailed map of your proposed filming locations. Applications are reviewed individually, and additional information may be requested before final approval.
