Carbon County was settled in the 1870s, but really came to be in the 1880s when the railroad came through and coal fields were discovered. The mines brough prosperity and people - making Carbon County the most ethnically diverse county in all of Utah and it's history and heritage are celebrated to this day.
Downtown Helper has been beautifully preserved and restored, with historic storefronts housing galleries, eateries and more. The city comes to life on the first Friday of the month with gallery walks, live music and entertainment that pulls in locals and visitors alike. Come and enjoy all that Helper has to offer.
