Welcome to the Carbon COUNTY LANDFILL

The landfill services Carbon County residents and entities by managing waste material safely and efficiently. Our stellar team knowledgably guides waste disposal into proper and safe sections of the landfill, and continuously monitors the status and progress of the levels of waste gathered, the types of waste and how they interact with each other. All loads coming into the landfill need to be properly sorted for the expertly sectioned sites located within the landfill. The kind and happy to help employees have the right to refuse any load for improper loading, covering or safety guidelines. SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Make sure all loads are secured down and covered.
  • Be sure to have waste securely bagged.
  • Stay in your vehicle while waiting at our scales & pay with credit card to minimize contact.
  • Children are always to encouraged to help, but parents please remember to keep them close to your vehicle.
  • Exercise proper caution when driving, walking or unloading. Always be aware of your surroundings. Employees are operating heavy machinery and equipment on a regular basis and residents should always keep safety a priority for themselves and the hardworking people who keep the landfill functioning.

New Tire Protocol - June 2026

Utah State Department of Environmental Quality protocols regulate that we can no longer accept more than 12 tires per resident daily. Also, we can no longer accept any commercial tire loads.

Commercial companies are encourage to search online for the Utah Waste Tire Program, go to the state page, and locate a transporter/recycler.

Contaminated Soils, Hazardous Waste, Wood Products Containing Creosote

WHAT IS HAZARDOUS WASTE?

  • paints and stains
  • pool and spa chemicals
  • pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and poisons
  • motor oil, antifreeze and other automotive fluids
  • thinners and solvents
  • household cleaners and disinfectants
  • art and hobby chemicals
  • aerosol spray products
  • sharps (medical syringes)
  • propane tanks or bottles from barbecue grills
  • compact fluorescent light bulbs or CFLs, fluorescent tubes and ballasts
  • mercury-containing items such as thermometers and thermostats

CURRENT LANDFILL RATES

RESIDENTIAL

$5.00 per Truck/Trailer
$2.00 per Tire
$1.50 added if credit/debit cards are used

10 residential trips fot $40
Landfill punch cards are available at the Carbon County Clerks office for $40. That means you get 2 free trips per card.

COMMERCIAL

$20.00 per ton ($20.00 Minimum)
Tires: $140 per ton (1 ton Minimum)
2.5% added if credit/debit cards are used

All loads must be covered and secured. It is a matter of safety and keeping our community beautiful. If uncovered, there will be a $20.00 fee charged per incident.

Rates for waste generated outside of Carbon County will be doubled. See current rates below.
